you might think I’m crazy but I’m serious

Janet Jackson the GOAT of female performer…she who built the house Beyonce, Ciara and Rhianna live.

Ms. Jackson (if you’re nasty) just came out with an inexpensive lingerie line. I’m normally over celebs and these vanity projects such as fragrances and clothing lines but this one got my attention. I love lingerie and pretty pannydrawls and bras. She even made the over-the-shoulder-boulder-holders up to a G cup. So us members of the big titty committee can get us something. I saw it on TVOne’s Access. Unfortunately, there aren’t a whole lot of pics available of the line but the pewter and black joint is BOSS. She named it Pleasure Principle (my favorite Janet video –damn I wanted that hairstyle).

and just because I had to:

get it with fitted

Nope, this is not about my favorite song by Short Bus Alumni but about the one thing I want but cannot seem to get. I’m not a baseball cap fan or a fitted fan but I’m a Hello Kitty fan. New Era came out with a Hello Kitty fitted and it’s all I want.

Unfortunately is it only available in Japan, where the Sanrio company is located. Fam, my heart bleeds for this cap in a 7 3/8.  I found a site http://www.onspotz.com/catalog_specialcustom.html#KITTY but I can’t work the damn translator. It’s so fly, I see it looking so magnificent with my haircut. (I’m rocking the curly fro until I feel like pressing it out again). I just wanted to show the readers of my blog so you can share my same lust for this accessory.

flashdance

I introduce you to a little girl named Latisha in the early 80s and she just got cable. There was a movie called Flashdance and it changed her life. She would run in place and throw her head back until her little heart pumped outta her chest or the violent coughing from the asthma. Already a dancer, this movie made matters worse! She’s a maniac on the floor and dancing like she never did before…what a feeling.

Revive the Live

When I went to NYC last month, I had the pleasure of catching the Real Live Show..it was an amazing display of hip-hop over live instruments. The sound was so rich and decadent, hands down the highlight of my trip.

From the same people who bring you the Real Live Show comes Revive da Live. Consider this the pièce de résistance for any true music lover…a marriage of hip-hop and live jazz music. I am so tempted to hop my happy ass on a plane and then a red eye just see this show myself.

Revive Da Live announces its highly anticipated upcoming concert, Thursday November 6, 2008 at 11 p.m. at New York hot spot, Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street, New York, NY). The concert, which is the first of a series to continue through Spring 2009, will feature emcees and producers Jeru the Damaja and Large Professor bassist Esperanza Spalding, keyboardist Shedrick Mitchell, alto saxophonist Jaleel Shaw, soprano/tenor saxophonist Marcus Strickland and drummer Chris “Daddy” Dave. Other featured musicians include Igmar Thomas (trumpet), Corey King (trombone) and special guest Aaron Parks (piano). The concert is hosted by Peter Rosenberg of Hot 97 and sponsored by okayplayer.com. Tickets are $15 in advanced/$20 day of show. Known for its creative productions, this Revive Da Live event will feature a deejay set by Large Professor and then followed by a drummer/deejay battle set between Large Professor and Chris “Daddy” Dave. doo doo brown

So in my late teens and my early twenties, I used to work at a great record store. At the end of the rap/hip-hop section there was the Miami Booty Bass section. There was actually tons of compilations, 69 Boyz and Luke. Ahhh Luke, that brings me to my point. There was one CD and particular that always got my attention..no homo.

I used to think how low is your self esteem that you’d pose like this on a cd that was in record stores nationwide. I wonder if these chicks got kids and how did they explain it. The chick on the right of Luke with semen on her face…really? Somebody pitched that to her and she really thought it was a good idea…wow. I’m a tad bit conservative but I own my sexuality. It’s not on display, I don’t seek it other…it’s up to me to feel and be sexy…not sexual. I hate to sound judgmental but damn these hottub hoes needed hugs.

must have read my mind

I haven’t been a fan of Beyonce or Destiny’s Child since Writing on the Wall. At that time I worked a record store and Britney, Christina and Jessica were selling big. They all had something in common…blonde. So mind you, DC had already put a bad taste in my mouth with the treatment of Latavia and Letoya so I wasn’t exactly checking for anything new from them. I gave Survivor a try anyway and it was doo-doo. Beyonce went as blonde as Britney Spears and the songs were like a syrup and sugar sammich. I like Nsync and BB ak, so I’m not a pop hater, I do hate sell outs. DC and Beyonce became just that. So this blog is everything I ever thought about them, Beyonce especially:

nothing to fear but fear itself

I was scared. I was shook. I was spooked. skurred even.

Yesterday morning, I took the last possible train to be on time for work. Which is 3 trains after my normal train. So I go up to the top because there was no room. I settle down, get out my magazine, put my headphones in and had my metra card out waiting for the conductor. I looked down for some reason and I saw him. I was stuck. He wasn’t the finest dude but he was a splitting image of my crush. The same skin tone, similiar glasses, thin lips. I had to double take. My crush is rare thing. I normally don’t keep a crush except for a few days. He’s been my crush for like 3 years…compared to the normal 72 hours. I remember when I met him like yesterday. It was like that scene in Virgin Suicides when Trip Fontaine walks down the hallway.

I don’t know another human personally with more swagger. He walked up with these chucks, a white tee (not 6X hoodbooger special from the gas station), loose but not baggy jeans and a trackjacket…I was done. He has the nerve to be talented too.

So yeah, dude on the train with no rings on looked just like him. He was taller, more a corporate type than b-boy but then again those could just be his work clothes. I was like “yeah, Tish you should holla at him if he gets off at your stop” I spent the 40 minute train ride giving myself a pep talk to holla at this *** **** look alike instead of reading my magazine. My stop is the final stop and he was still sitting here. He looked up but I made sure he didn’t see me checking him out. We all depart off the train and I couldn’t do it. I watched him walk in front of me until he got lost in the crowd. He wasn’t on the damn train this morning either. Shit sucks too.

I shouldn’t have been scared.

autumn hotness

I got my haircut this morning..not off this time. I’m still debating if I’m gonna put a pic up because I was strict on myself about putting any pics of myself on her. That could change as soon as I take these pics and get to feeling myself. I got the “Keri Hilson” and it shapes my faces so dopely (yes that’s a word, it’s in the Tishionary).

So, when I was getting my buttas whipped…the stylists were talking about nail polish. Eva (the girl who does my hair) and Heidi were talking about this “new dope color”. Fam! It’s a slate gray and it’s so real. It’s OPI’s France collection and it’s called You don’t know Jacques. Link___> OPI
